OK, at least I will try to. I honestly don't see how people can find the time to blog on a regular basis. I struggle with it, not to say that I don't have lots to update on, but I still find it hard to manage my time.

The fall has brought on a lot of travel for the Wynder household. We are currently in Montreal, loving every minute of being here, and very thankful for the opportunity. Daylyn is here for work, and Sloan and I have tagged along. We have seen some site, visited some really cool places, and played at a really neat park! Oh, and I also got attacked by a squirrel.

We're excited for Thursday, when we fly to New Brunswick, to visit with family for the Holidays. I am not going to lie...I am looking forward to some turkey and pumpkin pie! And spending time with family and friends we haven't seen for a while is the icing on the cake; or the whipped cream on the pie.

This past September, Daylyn and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! Where did the time go??? That is the question I have been asking myself. We told each other on our 5th anniversary, we would return to San Fransisco (where we honeymooned). We had everything booked, but had to postpone the trip due to things that came up with Daylyn's work. Lucky for us, instead of the trip being cancelled, it's just been postponed. We leave the beginning of November. Due to weather uncertainties, we now will be flying to Comox for Grammy and Grampy to watch Sloan. Another perk, on top of MANY, of having to reschedule.

Sloan has grown like a weed and is still very active and bright. He LOVES to write the alphabet, and doesn't really understand that coloring books are for coloring. He just sees it as paper you can write letters on! He writes his name, with a little help on the N. He can write pretty much all the letters. Sloan has realized that he can turn one letter into another (IE. an F into an E) with just another line! This makes teaching him to write words a little tricky, because he LOVES to be silly and change letters on me! He keeps me on my toes and makes motherhood an absolute joy!

It's Over...for this year anyways!

Well, I did it! I walked in The Weekend to End Women's Cancers! I knew that 60 kms was a lot....but boy, am I feeling it now!

I have never been SO sore and exhausted. Nor have I ever felt so proud of the fact that I was able to help in such a great cause, and honor the memory of my Aunt Joan.

The weather was beautiful! The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze blowing both days.

The Weekend was stationed in the SW part of the city, at the Battleford Park (Currie Barracks). Day one started with breakfast, opening ceremonies, and then a stretch. We left at 8am from the Park. I can't remember all of stop and places. There were pit stops placed every 4 - 6 kms. Each had water and alternated between powerade and snacks. From the Barracks we headed towards Edworthy Park. We walked through the park, onto Memorial drive, then up the hill by the Tom Baker Cancer Center. At the top of the hill, we headed along to a park off of 10th St NW. For lunch we had a yummy BBQ! A nice surprise. Daylyn, Sloan, and my Dad met me at a couple of pit stops and lunch. They kept me going! It was nice to know that I was going to have someone waiting along the way. After lunch, the walk took us towards crescent road, down 10th street and along the river. We crossed somewhere over Bow Trail and ended up going over the 26 Street bridge, then back to Richardson Way and into the Barracks. I crossed the finish line at 3pm.

The last 5 kms, my body gave out. I was hurting! I could feel blisters forming on the bottom of both of my feet by my toes, my hands and feet were REALLY swollen, and my hips were cramping. It took everything I had to walk the rest of the way.

At camp, there were chiropractor and massage tents set up. That was my first stop! Daylyn was there to greet me. We walked around, had a Slurpee, ate some food and relaxed. I made a stop at the medic tent to soak my hands and feet in ice cold water. I had one of my blisters popped and my feet wrapped.

I got home and stretched out on the floor with some ice packs. After, I soaked in the tub and had a shower. I don't even remember falling asleep when I got into bed. I was tired!

April Update

I have raised $1285.45...and it's all thanks to you! I am VERY appreciative for all of you who have helped in my fundraising efforts.

I have had two weekends of doing the bottle drive and have raised $200.45 from that! I contacted Earls in willow park and they were very willing to let me come get bottles from them. I was unprepared for the amount they had. I am calling them tomorrow to see if I can come back. Also, the BP in shawnessy is letting me come by in May to pick up some bottles. All in all, the bottle drive is a big hit!

The online auction is also doing well! From just the auction, I have raised $135! I have received gift cards from some restaurants and am in contact with a couple of salons and movie theatres. I hope things work out!

Plans are still in the works for a bake sale. I am having a hard time finding a place that will let me have a space at no cost. I did get a tip for the Deerfoot Meadows Superstore community room. If anyone knows of a community center in their neighbourhood that offers free events, please let me know. I would prefer to have the bake sale in at a neighbourhood community center.

Thanks again for all your support!

Update

Daylyn and I have been 'computer sharing,' which makes it really hard seeing he needs his computer for work. I have made $70 from it, and it's only the third week. I am hoping to get more donations, as I am running low! So, if anyone would like to donate stuff, please contact me. I have had wall vinyl donations (that one is currently up for bids at the moment), Jewelery, Mary Kay product, and a Brunch from the Delta Hotel.

I am $375 away from the half way mark. I am hoping to make $1,000 soon. I am getting ready to hand out flyers for a bottle drive, and I am making plans for a bake sale.

All in all, things are going well. I haven't been out for training walks in the past week or so, due to a cold...but now that I am starting to feel better, it's time to get outside!

Let the Bidding Begin.....

I have been contacting companies for donations of items that I can auction off on facebook to raise money for The Weekend to End Women's Cancers. Donating online at endcancer.ca is the fastest, easiest way to make a donation to your account. And since online donations are immediate, they will be credited to your account right away. Please note that offline donations may take up to three weeks to process from the time they are received by the processing department; so whenever possible, encourage your donors to donate online.

2. On each donation form, it’s essential to include your participant number. We need this information in order to credit your account properly. Without it, the donation cannot be processed. You can download additional copies of your donation form from your Personal Page.

3. Team donation forms are available in your Participant Centre for donors to make multiple individual donations to any number of members in a team within one easy form. Please note that single donations to an individual on a team cannot be split after donations are made.

4. We cannot accept cash donations. If a donor gives you cash, you will need to write a cheque or make an online donation in order to deposit the donation in your fundraising account.

5. All cheques need to be made out to "The Weekend to End Women’s Cancers."

6. Make sure your non-Canadian donors understand that the charge to their credit card will be made in Canadian dollars.

7. Each mailed donation must be stapled to its own donation form. Please do not list multiple donations on the same form.

8. Donations should not be sent to the event office; they should go to the address printed on the form. Donations cannot be sent via Federal Express, UPS, or other courier service. They must be sent via post. Mailed donations may take up to three weeks to process from the time they are received by the processing department. Mailed donations postmarked before the mail deadline will be credited to your account by Day One. If you haven’t met your fundraising minimum by Day One, complete a Delayed Self-Pledge Form at check-in, or plan on bringing donations with you to check-in to complete the balance.

9. Encourage donors to give more over time. It’s a simple way to increase the total amount you raise. If you know someone who is willing to give $50, ask the person if they would consider a monthly donation of $50 for five months instead. The donor can specify the amount they want to give for a period, depending on when the donation is made, which will be charged automatically to their credit card. Monthly payments must be $25 or higher, and cannot extend beyond December 31, 2010.

10. Meet your fundraising minimum by July 5 to complete Online Check-In early and have your Weekend credentials and event materials posted to you.

11. Online donations should be made before Day One in order for them to be counted toward your fundraising minimum. If you have met your fundraising minimum before the deadline, please continue to send donations as normal. Donations will be accepted until the end of 2010.

12. Make sure that your donors fill out the donation forms completely.

13. Donations are non-transferable, not even to team members.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR DONATIONS AND SUPPORT!

Usborne Book Party/Fundraiser/Brunch

I will be hosting an Usborne Book Party/Brunch - Saturday, March 13th at 10am at my house - as a fundraiser for The Weekend to end Women's Cancers.

YOU ARE ALL INVITED!

Usborne has great books for all ages. I have contacted two hotels, and am waiting to hear back from them on donating a room for me to auction off. I have also contacted Calgary Flames and Calgary Hitmen for a couple of tickets. I am not 100% sure about the Flames tickets...but it doesn't hurt to ask. I did get an e-mail back from them, asking me to send in a letter, rather then e-mail.

Another idea Kim suggested was a bottle drive. I am planning that one for April. I am also having an Usborne Book Party/Brunch on March 13th from 10am to 11:30am. Marci will be donating 15% of all sales of this party to The Walk. YEAH! I will be donating all the hostess book credits to go towards buying books for the Alberta Children's Hospital. Please come to the party! It should be lots of fun. If you can't make it, but want to order books, please contact me. The weather has been so nice out, and after a long day's struggle with kids not listening to me...I had to get out of the house! I combined the two things I love to do, walking and going to Wal-Mart! :) I needed to get a few things, and Daylyn and I mapped out routes that were 4km, and it just happened to be that our house to Wal-Mart is one of them! lol

I hope it stays nice for a while. It's hard to get out during the day, now that I am looking after another little guy. I can't justify buying a triple stroller, when I recently just bought a double. All of us did get out the other day for a walk around the block. Sloan walked the whole way! For a 2 year old, walking and not complaining for 30 minutes is HUGE!

I am so excited for spring! I know we haven't had that much of a cold snap, but I am so tired of the snow!

Busy...busy...busy!

The past couple of weeks have flown right by. I went to help my mom with her move, and look after a new born baby she was placed with (my mom does foster care). The weather was nice in Courtenay, but I was so busy helping out, that I didn't get out to walk. :( When I got back to Calgary, we were covered with snow and freezing cold! Needless to say I haven't been outside to walk for a bit. Everyday I think of reasons why I need a treadmill! I think the pros out weigh the cons by now!

At Daylyn's office, every Friday is casual day. Employees pay $5.00 (with the money going to a charity) and they can wear jeans. I am so excited! Daylyn talked to the lady that is in charge of 'jeans day,' and the two Fridays before the walk have been set up to help me in my fundraising efforts! The money collected will be going to The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. I am so grateful and excited! It's also a little scary, because I am not sure how much money will be raised through the two days, and with it being so close to the actual event...but I am grateful none the less!

I have been thinking of things I can do to raise money. One idea is to make a quilt and raffle/auction it off. The only hitch is I have no idea where I could auction it off at. Heritage Park is having a quilt show in May, and I was thinking of contacting them to see if I could set up a booth there. When I was in Hill Spring for a Super Saturday with my M-I-L, the quilt club was making a quilt using cancer fabrics (pink and white, with the ribbon). They were donating it to The Tom Baker Center to be auctioned off. It was really cute!

I also have been thinking of corporate sponsors. This was an idea given by The Weekend. I would wear a shirt on the two days of the walk, sporting the company's logo. I just am not sure who to contact.

If anyone has any ideas, please share! I really appreciate all your encouragement and donations! I couldn't do this without you!

Baby...It's Cold Outside!

Sloan and I went for a training walk yesterday. It was a nice sunny day, but with a bit of a wind. I dressed Sloan in winter wear, and even put a blanket on him....we were only outside for about 45 min. to an hour....but Sloan was shivering when we got back to Eau Claire. I felt really bad. Sloan is getting over a little bit of a flu, and I thought the fresh air would help him...I think I over did it.

Besides the guilt, it was nice to be downtown! Sloan and I started our walk in the public parking lot on Memorial Drive, right by the Curling Club. We crossed over the river, into PIP and then turned left and walked to 10th Street pedestrian bridge, crossed over the river and continued our walk east on Memorial Drive. When we got back to our starting point, I thought for sure we had walked 4km...but it was barely 2km! So we crossed back into PIP and made our way to the Centre Street Bridge. We did a loop and ended back at Eau Claire. Sloan played at the little play place they have at the Market, and we met Daylyn for lunch.

It was a fun walk, and really nice to be outside. Sloan didn't mind the walk, with the exception of wanting to get out and "Mommy hold you"...that is what Sloan says when he wants me to carry him. :)

I am not sure how far we actually walked, but it was a great start to the week. I want to make it out again tomorrow, but this time I may just leave Sloan at home. Daylyn and I mapped out how far it is from our house to Wal-Mart, and it is close to 4km. I walked there with the kids this past summer, and it didn't seem too long. We were also basking in the sun, so it may not to so enjoyable if the weather gets as cold as it is supposed to!

I bought some socks at The Running Room that is double layer thickness, and prevents blisters. They are so comfortable; I may need to buy more!

Let the Training Beginning!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1SwLXC-wWI/AAAAAAAABMA/XS73kOrpexk/s200/IMG_3120.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5428157160099856738" />
I did a 4 km walk yesterday in Fish Creek Park! It was invigorating. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The weather is supposed to be nice this week, so my goal is to get outside at least twice and go for a walk. The paths at the Park were mostly clear. It was really nice not having to stop and wait at intersections.

I received my first donation from Kim and Andrew! I was REALLY excited, and it totally made my day. I am finding more friends and family who are offering their commitment to donate to me. It is an amazing feeling to have their support.

Breast cancer has effective too many women in my family. I am grateful for the opportunity I have to raise awareness. I am finding younger women who are being diagnosed with this disease. In doing so, I also wanted to find ways to give back and provide opportunities for others. On July 24-25, 2010 I'll be participating in a very special event called The Weekend to End Women's Cancers.

I'll walk 60 kilometers in two days with thousands of other women and men. My goal is to raise $2,000. The net proceeds will support breast cancer and gynecologic cancers research, treatment, and services through the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

The reason why I am participating in this walk is because I lost my Aunt, Joan Foster, to breast cancer in April 2009. My aunt was a WONDERFUL, kind, caring lady! It is my privilege to be able to do something that not only honors her memory, but provides awareness and hope to those who are suffering from cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute of Canada, approximately 20,500 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and about 5,400 will die from the disease. That's why I'm walking so far. To do something bold about all women's cancers. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me - by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.

Would you please consider making a donation of $50? Use the link at the bottom of this post, and go visit my site - and please take the time to support me. Please keep in mind how far I'm walking - and how hard I'll have to train.

Thank you in advance for your generosity!

www.endcancer.ca

Personal Page: http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Calgary2010?px=2932613&pg=personal&fr_id=1410

Christmas & Birthdays

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1EnDy3C-BI/AAAAAAAABLA/_UaolRM0akE/s200/IMG_2994.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427161972103903250" />
We had a really nice Christmas at home this year. It was a little weird to just have Daylyn, Sloan and myself around the house. We are really grateful for the opportunity we had to stay at home, just the three of us, and start our own Christmas/family traditions. We bunndled Sloan up and went to the Nativity pagent on Christmas Eve. The church puts the pagent on down by Heritage Park. It was a great way to celebrate the Christmas season.

Sloan was so funny opening presents Christmas morning. All he wanted to do was pull the bows off the presents...no improvement from last year! Daylyn showed Sloan how to rip the paper off the presents, and once he got the hang of it, he didn't want to stop. We invited a new family to our ward over for dinner, and had a great visit.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1EnEQLXSeI/AAAAAAAABLI/ceWYScWStZg/s200/IMG_3016.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427161979973749218" />

We celebrated Sloan's birthday this year with a Super WHY! party. It's a preschool show on PBS kids that teaches reading, spelling, rhymning, and the alphatbet. Sloan knows all the letters, thanks to Alpha Pig. On Sloan's actually birthday, which was the 5th, Gramps came over for dinner and we had a yummy peanut butter frosting and chocolate cake.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1ErdhnCCXI/AAAAAAAABLY/4JI4DZcx2uA/s200/IMG_3103.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427166812196440434" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1ErdZ8fozI/AAAAAAAABLQ/HWpFIGsa7Wg/s200/IMG_3080.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427166810138977074" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1EtERHDnGI/AAAAAAAABL4/046pTj6UqNg/s200/IMG_3117.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427168577293884514" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/S1EtDzhZDOI/AAAAAAAABLw/fYWPfrNJS50/s200/IMG_3116.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5427168569351277794" />

December, Already?

Wow, I know I keep saying this, but time sure is flying by! I can't believe that Christmas is one week from today!

We have kept busy over the last few months. In the summer, my family came for a visit. It was lots of fun! My sister and niece, who I don't get to see that often, came for two weeks. We went to Edmonton to go shopping, and play at the water park. We also hit up the Stampede and Calaway Park. Sloan LOVED the rides! We did some "camping" at my Aunt's and had fun relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

September, Daylyn started school again. He now has started his last class, FINALLY! He wrote a national exam at the beginning of this month, and we are waiting on pins and needles until the end of January to see if he passed. The end is near!

In September, we all flew to my parents in BC for a visit. Daylyn and I went to Seattle for a couple of days to celebrate our anniversary. It was really hard being away from Sloan, and I won't lie, I cried almost everyday! We had SO much fun! We went on some tours of the city, along with a very tasty food tour. We did LOTS of shopping. Oh how I miss outlet malls. :)

At the beginning of December, Daylyn had to go to Orlando, FL for a work conference. I tried to convince Daylyn that we all should go, but Sloan and I decided that a trip to Grammy's would be much more fun! So, for the first time, and probably the last, Sloan and I flew on a plane all by ourselves.....what an adventure. I never knew that an hour and twenty minute flight could feel like a lifetime. Sloan was so hyper and restless.

This Christmas we are spending it at home, with our little family. We want to start our own family traditions. We are planning on going to zoo lights on the 21st with some friends. On Christmas Eve, we will be going to see the Nativity down at Heritage Park. We also will be celebrating Daylyn's birthday on the 23rd! And preparing for Sloan's on the 5th of January.

We feel truly blessed as we reflect on this past year! We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Easter time at the Wynder's

The easter bunny made it to our house and left some really yummy treats. The yellow, maroon, and Winnie the pooh mess was getting too much to look at everyday. In the fall, I pulled off the border, and when my mom was here over Christmas, we puttied the room, and took all of the pictures off the wall.

Now that the weather is warmer, we thought now would be a great time to paint the room. My dad really has been doing all the work. For now we are just going to paint the room, and eventually I would like to put a chair rail up, and paint a different colour strips on the bottom of the wall.

Here are some shots of Sloan's room after one coat of primer.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SdkILLcG99I/AAAAAAAAAvk/BpqTaVZVCS4/s200/IMG_2362.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321293422857222098" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SdkILFvV1-I/AAAAAAAAAvc/nAfsZP0q4DA/s200/IMG_2361.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321293421327276002" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SdkIK_7rZ7I/AAAAAAAAAvU/7qzGVtPOCGM/s200/IMG_2360.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321293419768407986" />

Here are some shots of my dad painting the first coat of Michigan Lakes. He puts his hands up, to balance, and he looks so cute. We bought him some new shoes, because the ones Grandma got him at Christmas are too big, and they fall off. Sloan LOVES his shoes. He carries them around the house, and tries to put them on his feet.

Sloan hasn't cut anymore teeth, but is showing signs of teething. It's touch and go some days at our house, but for the most part, Sloan is still a great little boy.

March brought on Daylyn's busy season, and it's by far the best one yet. Well, for Sloan and myself. Daylyn leaves for work around 6:00am and doesn't return home until 6pm. We have dinner together, and then play with Sloan. After Sloan is in bed, Daylyn typically works for another 2 hours. It's nice to see him everyday!

We spent our first night away from Sloan last weekend. Daylyn and I went to Kananaskis for Daylyn's company ski weekend. It was lots of fun, but we were both excited to get back Sloan. I only called to check on Sloan twice. Pretty good, if I say so myself.

Sloan had his first haircut. He was a really good boy. He sat so still on my lap. He liked spinning around in the chair when he was all done.

Meal time at our house has become a slight bit messy. Sloan insists on feeding himself, especially yogurt! We got some really good shots!

This one reminds me of Santa!

Taking a break...eating lunch takes a lot out of ya!

Sloan LOVES oatmeal!

Well, that's about all that is going on at our house. Oh, we are painting Sloan's room. Hopefully it will be done by this weekend. It was really cold and windy at the top of Sulphur Mountain!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SZETMnnlk9I/AAAAAAAAAss/0CxeSTymoWI/s200/IMG_2313.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301039343906165714" />

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SZETMQz0IRI/AAAAAAAAAsk/iOqiTLCaCJQ/s200/IMG_2304.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5301039337783435538" />

Daylyn passed his first National exam in December! We are so proud of him. He writes another one in March. He is just finsihing a course, and writes the final this Monday. He is really busy! We plan to attend his company ski weekend in March, and I am a little nervous, because we will be leaving Sloan at home. This will be the first time we have left him overnight. Daylyn's niece, and her husband, are going to come up from Lethbridge to watch him. I know everything will be fine, but I am a mom, and my job is to worry!

I have a new part time job at GoodLife Fitness. I work two nights a week in childminding (fancy name for drop in babysitting). Sloan LOVES to go to the gym and play with all the toys and kids. Daylyn and I have started working out with a personal trainer two nights a week. It's time to get into shape! And what better way to do it, then to have someone else kick our butts. It's fun to spend time together and have some friendly competition.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 134px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/SZ2gCxb12EI/AAAAAAAAAs0/WJLrjkhe0t4/s200/Sloan_Portrait_12x18_(Correct_this_time).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304571905602607170" />

Sloan had his second photo shoot for his one year pictures. We had a friend take some pictures of Sloan and they turned out really good! We wake up in the morning to a hungry bear growling in his crib! Sloan is like most babies, he doesn't preform when the camera appears. Here is a little of what I caught. He is growling and looking for, you guessed it, DAD! What am I, chop liver?????

Sloan is getting better at pulling himself up! He doesn't understand that once he is up, he needs to bring his feet together. He will stand at a slant. I've tried to get pictures, but he falls faster that I can get the camera out.

He still has a cold, and it's booger central at our house. GROSS! At his check up, the doctor said if he wasn't over the snot and cough by Monday, we need to go back. He seems to be coughing less, but the snot...seriously, it's everywhere!

Daylyn has been working away at school. He is taking the on-line course, instead of going to class. It's a long story! I think he likes going to class better. He got his first assignment back and did really well on it. YEAH!! I know he will do well, he just gets discouraged.

My dayhome is underway and I still only have one little girl. It isn't too bad, but it would be nice to have a couple more kids. Sloan loves having her here! He smiles every time she comes in the door. The weather has been really nice, so we are trying to get out to the park at some point in the day. It's hard when you have a sleeping bear that loves his naps (and I love them too)!!! The days seem to fly by, which is really nice.

Daylyn planned our anniversary this year, and we had such a great time. He packed a picnic and we headed to Glenmore park for a nice dinner and walk along the water. It was so romantic!

Everyone says that Sloan looks like Daylyn,I would have to agree, but Daylyn doesn't see it. This is a picture of Daylyn at 8 months. We thought that a top tooth was trying to push through, but we were wrong. Daylyn was looking around in his mouth and notcied that a bottom tooth was coming through. A couple of days later, Daylyn noticed that he had ANOTHER coming through right beside the first one! Ok, notice how all the big mildstones happen when Daddy is around! Don't get me started on when Sloan rolled over for the first time! Oh, and Sloan doesn't say mum mum anymore. Yep, you guessed it! He says da da da, all day long!

Sloan has also caught a cold from the little girl I look after, so that coupled with his teeth....you can imagine the sleepless nights at our house! Sloan has been growing like a weed, and he is now almost crawling (heaven forbid when he actually does start). I know personally, I am having a hard time keeping up with this kid, and he isn't even crawling yet. But let me tell you he sure can get around the house already by just rolling.

The month of July was a busy month, but nothing truly beyond the typical norm. We spent time with family and friends in and around the city, attended the Stampede, and went to Edmonton for a wedding. Added into all of this was the usual summer activities, of walks, softball league games etc. Also during July Sloan was enrolled in his first swimming lessons. We found that he loves the water (especially when it is a warm indoor pool).

August by far was our busiest of travel months during the summer. For one week we went out to the East coast to visit some of Jocelyn's family whom she hasn't seen in quite some time. It was a lot of fun, even though we didn't really get to do any tourist type activities. Most of our time was spent visiting with family and friends. It was a fun time. Unfortunately we all returned from that trip with a cold (yes, including Sloan!).

We only had one week to rest and try and get better for the following Saturday (after we canned 120 lbs. of peaches) we left for the west coast this time. We again went and visited Jocelyn's family (her mom and step-father). It was a great time. During this trip we again really didn't do much, but we were able to get some rest, and just relax.

Now that we have returned, we will be getting back into the swing of things again, as I begin taking more courses starting in September, and Jocelyn opens her dayhome.

New House

Well, we are in our new place. Everything is pretty much unpacked, we just have to find a place for it now. Daylyn and I are both very, very sore and have promised each other that we are NEVER going to move. Well, at least not in the next couple of years. We both love the house (duh, that's why we bought it).

Sloan is having fun discovering his new house. He likes his new room and has been doing better at sleeping. He is starting to roll onto his side and any day now he will be rolling completely over. He has found his feet and tries to put them in his mouth. He drools so much, we think he might be getting teeth! He likes to play with his spider and smile at mommy and daddy. He has been eating lots and growing like a weed!

Spring Has Sprung!

We have bought our first house and are VERY excited. He has found his voice. He also has started kicking and leaning over. We anticipate him rolling over any day now. He has Daddy's eyes and we are hoping Mommy's hair (it has gotten darker). He has also started sleeping throught the nights, and Mommy is enjoying her sleep again!

Tax season is over and this was the worst of them all. Which really isn't much, so this is going to be short. Daylyn finished up school at the end of November, with a very good mark! I am really proud of him. He is on a break until next September, and I think that he is really happy about that. It's not like he is going to be busy with a new baby or anything.

I have been sleeping lots and getting ready for the baby to come. 12 more days!!!! We are so excited! My sister is going to be coming out at the beginning of Feb. to help out. I am really excited to see her. Yeah, so I have been excited lots.

We are looking forward to a Christmas at home this year and with Daylyn's family. We thought we should stay close to home seeing that this baby could come anytime (but with our luck, this baby isn't coming anytime soon). We put the tree up at the end of November, and that's about all the decorating that we did. Oh, I did put up a ghetto village. It's small, but I think it's cute.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAYLYN!!

I guess I better get cracking.....

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/Rx0n2NuHINI/AAAAAAAAAA8/dwUTkENFD6A/s200/IMG_0313.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5124295763366977746" />
Ok, so I haven't been very good at this blogging thing. After many e-mails reminding me that I have a blog and it is way out of date, I decided to update everyone on what is going on with us.

Daylyn and I are so excited!!!! We are expecting our first little baby boy on January 5, 2008. We found out on May 4, 2007! This is grandchild number 2 on my side and 16 on Daylyn's side. My mom is so pumped. When I told my dad that we are having a boy, I instantly became his favorite child (too bad Jen, you have been replaced)!

I have had lots of fun shopping for boy clothes. I thought that having a girl and shopping for dresses and pink things would be fun, and I am sure it is, but there are lots of very cute boy clothes out there. I have found lots of cute little baby sweater vests! He is going to be just like his daddy!!!

Other than planning for our new addition, we haven't been doing much. We went to visit with my sister and neice in July at my parent's in B.C. We went back again in August for a week and had fun relaxing. My parent's bought a house, finally, and we helped with tearing off the wall paper and well...that was about it!! We are planning another trip at the begining of November, via Vancouver and Seattle. Hello outlet malls!!! You got to love air miles, west jet and cheap flights!!!

I started maternity leave early, totally not by my choice, and I have been so bored. I started going to the pool again and trying to be more active. I have been reading lots of books, and that seems to pass away some time. This is week number 4 of 12 before baby comes and I really need to find more time consuming hobbies.

Daylyn is taking another course on his way to completeing the CGA designation. This is the last course he has to take before he can start taking the four national final tests. He just had his midterm on Thursday and we are both anxious to find out his mark. He has school all day on Saturday (boo), so we really don't have to wait that long.

I think that will do it for another 6 months!

My turn!!!

Well I have been informed that it is my turn to contribute to this blog. I have had a busy past two months at work, which in turn has left Jocelyn with alot of alone time. She has tried to fill this time by starting up her new business of selling Mary Kay. So if you would like to purchase any products, please let her know. I am very supportive of this business, and hopefully the profits that will come from it. (I do love money!!! I'm not GREEDY at all, right honey!!!)

Work has kept me very busy for the last 7 weeks, of which I have spent around 65-70 hours a week in the office, which for me is way too much time. Really I do love my job, but honestly, I don't want to live at the office. Which is more so of what the last 7 weeks have felt like. I am so ready to go back to normal work weeks, and having weekends free to do whatever I want. The only positive about working so many hours in a week, is that once I go back to working normal hours, the days are going to fly by.

Not much else has been going on for me, as my life consists of, at this point, nothing more than going to work, and coming home to bed, and then going back to work. Hopefully the summer months will bring much more excited stuff that we will be able to post for all.

Until next time!!!

Girl's Night in Banff

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/Rhkn-d708iI/AAAAAAAAAAU/QoN7_tjTqBQ/s200/IMG_0275.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051112411213656610" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/Rhkn-9708jI/AAAAAAAAAAc/6gr5ZVaCk_c/s200/IMG_0277.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051112419803591218" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/Rhkn_d708kI/AAAAAAAAAAk/QTR9MVyzI34/s200/IMG_0279.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051112428393525826" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Pvizv84NxNo/Rhkn_t708lI/AAAAAAAAAAs/t54wfNVT5CY/s200/IMG_0280.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5051112432688493138" />
Yesterday, Brandy, Kim, Laura, Becky and I went to the ballet in Banff. We saw the Royal Winnipeg Ballet preform Dracula and it was AMAZING!!! I have fallen in love with the ballet. The dancing was so beautiful!

Brandy and I went up early to take a dip in the hot springs, and then a stroll to the candy stores. We met up with the rest of the girl's at Guido's. I am self-employed, and loving it. I still work full time as a nanny, but will start spending evenings and weekends with Mary Kay! I am really excited about this, because I have always wanted to learn about proper skin care and make-up tips. Mary Kay skin care products are fabulous. I have sensitive skin and have tried everything out there to help my skin. The TimeWise Age-Fighting products work great on me and I highly recommend them to anyone that wants healthy, younger looking skin. Also, the fact that they all help with fine lines and wrinkles is an added bonus.

I had my first class last week. Well, it wasn't really my class because my team leader taught it, but it gave me an idea of how to run a skin class. It was lots of fun, and I learned a lot. I will be excited to start teaching the classes and building my clientele. I was a little unsure of the whole thing, but now I am really excited. There are lots of cool things to learn and fun people to work with!

Please check out my website, www.marykay.ca/jwynder. If you have any questions, or want to host a skin care class, please let me know!! There are free gifts for hostess, and prizes!! Everyone loves prizes. Plus it gives me chances to practice and become better at teaching a class. So help a sista out!!!

I knew this wasn't going to last!

Thanks to Kim, I have been reminded that I haven't posted anything in a while. There really isn't anything new happening here. Tax season is under way and I still haven't found a new hobby. Anybody know where they offer under-water basket weaving, other than BYU?

However, thanks to Kim's inspiring quest to start school, I have done some thinking and researching into my own schooling. I have realized that I just need to throw in the towel now, because it's going to take me 100 years just to get a stinkin' degree. No, that would be too boring! I have decided to stay with Social Work, I was leaning a little towards Psychology for a while, and will probably do the distance program from University of Victoria. I have missed the deadline for this year, but that's OK because I still need to do some courses to get enough units to transfer. So, I am planning on taking some night classes at good ol' MRC.

Kim.... while you are rekindling my passion for everything, we need to start going to the pool again!

I am sure this is eaiser than it looks!

Alright, I have decided that I really need to do something about my lack of staying in contact with friends and family. It's a bad habit I have become accustomed to and it needs to be remedied. I just hope that I can keep up with updating this thing. I don't really live an exciting life, but my day to day tasks keeps me busy.

This year has sure flown by! It's hard to believe that we are fast approaching the month of March and spring is just around the corner! Yahoo! I am so sick of the snow.

Daylyn starts his busy season soon and I am left a work widow for 7 weeks. This time I am not in school, so I really need to find a hobby to pass the time. Any suggestions?

I have started to exercise more and am really conscious of what I put in my mouth. I have noticed that my energy level is increasing and I am not completely worn out at the end of the day. I have discovered a love of Deep Water Work Out. Who knew that splashing around in the water could burn lots of calories and fat! It truly is wonderful.

Alright, so this should get me started!
